HiMedia Coagulase Plasma (from rabbit), catalog number FD248, is a laboratory reagent used for the diagnosis of Staphylococci by studying their coagulase reaction. It is primarily used in clinical and food microbiology to differentiate Staphylococcus aureus (coagulase-positive) from other species.
Product Composition and Usage
Each vial is sufficient for approximately six tests.
• Active Ingredient: Each vial contains 0.100g of Coagulase Plasma extracted from rabbits.
• Preparation: The contents must be rehydrated aseptically with 3 ml of sterile distilled water.
• Test Procedure: For the tube test, 0.5 ml of the rehydrated plasma is typically added to a tube. A positive result is indicated by any degree of clotting within 4 hours
